The 4x4x48….Love is…

This year I participated in an event called the 4x4x48 created by David Goggins. Our team raised over $2,500.00 for a foster family in need while we ran 4 miles every 4 hrs for a total of a 48 hr period. As I thought about completing the 4x4x48 running in the cold and darkness and simply getting out of my own way, It was humbling to see the discipline of not only myself but the others in my life who continued to do this alongside of me.

On the final morning I was reminded to stay hard and stay humble as this was not only a physical event of great endeavor, but it was also a discipline and chipping off of ego that allows for softening of the heart and turning of the soil.

Completing this event caused another trip down memory lane where I recognized I have spent less and less time on digital media over the past 6 months and as I have been on digital media over the past two weeks, posting and sharing to raise money for this event, My heart hurt for the amount of pain and aggressive words that are used against each other through other peoples post. Damaging. So damaging.

As I finger flicked post by post, I read the paper cuts that are bleeding all over each other in the world. It is necessary yet entirely unnecessary. I am humbled at this moment. I am not only excited but energized to continue to walk forth in faith, knowing that everybody must run their own race. Not everybody is where you are. And nobody for sure is where I am.

Where am I?

Though I'm not entirely sure of all the places that I am, I am sure that I am leading and living through love. Many of us speak about doing great things in this season yet we find it a big struggle to do anything. Whether it be work or service we all have big dreams, yet we often find little energy left at the end of the day to get it all done. There’s a secret to be learned here….no one really has ALL the energy. We each have a little bit at a time and if and when you find your flow or muse as I like to call it, it is amazing to see what can get accomplished with just a little bit of faith, discipline and perseverance for when the pain comes;

I promise….the pain will come.

Don’t run from it.

Run to it and you will find great strength in the suffering.

If you or someone you know would like to take on a physical event and raise money while experiencing it, feel free to reach out and see what we can do to help!

Gotta run.
