Truth Of A Runner

Truth of a runner.

As I sit here looking at the old pair of shoes and the new pair of shoes I chuckled a little thinking to myself "when did I become a runner?" I can't tell you the exact day or time as I definitely don't know that. I can tell you why this matters to me so much.

Lately people have been asking me what are you training for?

I use the answer of one of my best friends who always says "Tommorow. I'm training for tomorrow."

That is such a good answer.

After falling flat on my face yesterday during the hike and slipping more times than I should have slipped I recognize this morning that all of my shoes were beaten and needed to be replaced. So I headed down to the shoe store and purchased the new pair. This feels like it's becoming a problem yet it's a good problem to have. I burned through shoes every month or so.

I like being a runner.

I like being a hiker.

I like moving my body.

It is definitely a Mind body Spirit connection.

I'm in a really good season right now.

My body hurts, not in a bad way though.

I've been blessed to continue to do what I do.

There's so many people I need to thank.

For now I'm going to go out for a run and dirty up my new shoes.

That sounds like a great idea.

If you're struggling put some shoes on put your shorts on put a t-shirt on and go out for a walk. After a couple days try jogging a little. Soon enough you'll be running and you too can call yourself a runner.

Thank you Sunrise Mountain Sports for helping me stay sober, for keeping not only me but every single one of my immediate family members and new family members healthy as well. Words cannot express how many times you guys have saved Our lives.

Forever grateful.
