There IS Power In Prayer

The Sunday before our run we took a moment to pray. Left to right: Justin Pastorius, Frankie Stoneham, Keven Hempel with Pastror D from Sunset Community Church Located in Livermore Ca.

There's a story to be told that happened around mile 57. It involved a messenger. One of which we didn't think was a good messenger at first. We were bothered yet quickly we discovered he was sent for a purpose.

The picture on the left is all of us praying and asking for protection the picture on the right was last Sunday which was another prayer for preparation. Both times we've had the opportunity to see the prayer as a miracle answered.

You may not believe in the power of Prayer as I didn't at one time as well but I can tell you I really didn't start to feel alive until after I started praying for healing for forgiveness for compassion and for empathy. I prayed for the struggles of all my addictions and challenges in life to be lifted and to be guided through the storms when they felt like there was so much rain coming down that I could barely breathe.

This is not a post to force you to pray it is simply my testimony and my story on how I get the opportunities to do what I do. I know it's a tough conversation. I know it is one filled with doubt sometimes anger and sometimes hatred. It is immediate shut off when someone mentions God for all the times that he has been mentioned before that never turned out the way that you would expect it to but I also know that every single time in my life where I've been brought to something I always make it through something and that is a very important part of faith and belief.

The way I figure it, the conversation has to start somewhere or we never have the opportunity to move forward. For now I will keep the hope and keep the faith while having the understanding and belief that there is always going to be struggle and one of the major differences is always going to be how we each individually carry that struggle. I specifically love the fact that we can release the struggle and accept the process which ultimately allows us to fill our purpose.

For now I sit and pray.
